Do-Overs

I have noticed that a lot of artists are re-making “old” songs lately. I think that artists are realizing that all the GOOD songs have already been made, and so they feel the need to make good ones “better.”
Examples from my MP3 player:

Me and Mrs. Jones - Michael Buble (I have never heard the original, but love this one)
Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow – Amy Winehouse (if you haven’t heard her, do so!)
Life is a Highway – Rascall Flats (just a little more country than the original)
Always on My Mind – Michael Buble (every time it starts, I expect to hear Willie Nelson)
Bessie Smith – Norah Jones (again, never heard the original, but love it!)
Landslide – Dixie Chicks (just slightly better than Stevie Nicks)
